The watch’s dial and strap are both enhanced with Super-LumiNova® pigments, ensuring unparalleled visibility and a striking appearance in low light conditions. The dial’s brass base is meticulously sprayed with a Super-LumiNova® solution before the additional markings are printed on top, creating a seamless luminescent surface. The [RE]Master02 Selfwinding pays tribute to the original 1960 Model 5159BA, a Brutalist-inspired watch, and follows the legacy of the [RE]Master01 launched in 2020, which re-imagined a rare 1943 chronograph. This new limited edition of 250 pieces features an asymmetrical 41mm rectangular case crafted from a new 18-carat sand gold alloy, launched earlier this year. These triangles are meticulously placed on a brass plate with minuscule feet and separated by sand gold partitions, making time reading effortless. The Isotope x Revolution Mercury is the latest collaborative effort from Isotope, showcasing an extraordinary blend of original design and meticulous polishing techniques. This 150-piece limited edition watch draws inspiration from the multifaceted symbolism of Mercury, encompassing its identity as a liquid metal, a train, and the Roman god of positive tidings. The brainchild of Revolution’s Wei Koh and Isotope founder Jose Miranda, this timepiece features a fully polished stainless steel case and boasts the first-ever mirror-polished convex dial.
This abstract exploration captures the essence of Mercury in its various forms: the fluidity of the metal, the sleek lines of the American Art Deco streamliner, and the uplifting spirit of the Roman deity. Creating the mirror-polished convex dial was a laborious endeavour, with a rejection rate exceeding 50 percent. Over 350 dials were produced, resulting in 160 acceptable dials, of which 150 were finally assembled.
