Citizen Promaster Diver Aqualand Ecozilla Watch BN2025-02E

The Citizen Promaster Diver 52.5mm (Ref. BN2025-02E) is the Aqualand “Ecozilla”, a solar-powered Eco-Drive diver with a depth meter that shows the current time and current dive depth together and records the maximum depth reached. The case is big and thick, which is where the Godzilla nickname comes from, but the analogue dial and rotating bezel keep it a recognisable dive watch. A water sensor detects immersion and switches the watch into dive mode, engaging the depth gauge automatically.

At 52.5mm with 18.4mm thickness, the stainless steel case is one of the largest in the Promaster range and has a strong wrist presence on larger wrists. The screw-down crown and screw-down push buttons controlling the depth meter protect the mechanism, and the unidirectional rotating bezel enables dive timing. The mineral crystal glass and crystal dial markers keep the display clear, and the black rubber strap with buckle clasp suits the case size and diving use.

The Eco-Drive Calibre J250 is powered by light and needs no battery changes, with a 330-day power reserve once fully charged. Citizen specifies accuracy of +/-15 seconds per month and includes a humidity sensor and an anti-reverse spin function that stops accidental rotation of the bezel. Whilst the movement is quartz, the solar technology removes the main maintenance cost of ordinary quartz divers.

Water resistance is 200m, and the depth meter complication gives it a practical function mechanical divers lack. This model suits divers and collectors who want a utilitarian, feature-rich tool watch with real diving functionality and a bold design. Citizen lists a one-year international warranty.
