The Hamilton Ventura XXL Bright 52mm x 48mm (Ref. H24604330) is a modern oversized take on the 1957 Ventura, the world’s first battery-powered watch, inspired by pioneering designer Richard Arbib. It was worn by Elvis Presley in the 1961 film Blue Hawaii and appears in Knuckles, Season 1 (2024), worn by Wade Whipple, played by Adam Pally. A push of the button at 9 o’clock lights the dial red, and the black dial carries an electric pulse pattern with matching indices.
At 52mm x 48mm with 11.8mm thickness, the stainless steel case has a black PVD coating and a 23.5mm lug width. The black hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, so the time stays readable in the dark as well as under the red illumination. The case is notably large and slim, which suits the geometric Ventura shape better than a conventional round case of similar footprint.
The F03.105 quartz movement powers the dial illumination and timekeeping, with the accuracy and low maintenance typical of quartz. The sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment keeps the dial clear and resistant to scratches, and water resistance is 5 bar (50m), which covers everyday wear but not swimming or diving.
This model is listed by Hamilton as a past collection piece, which is worth noting for availability. It suits buyers who want a distinctive design-led watch with genuine horological history and film provenance, as well as fans of the Ventura looking for its boldest modern interpretation.
